Research Papers on the Effects of Lack of Rest and Play Time
Research Papers on the Effects of Lack of Rest and Play TimeAs a child growing up I wanted to know more about the effects of lack of recess and play time. How can this affect my child? Should I let them out more? What I found was that children who played in the park more than their peers and had less experienced in outdoor play were the ones who had lower grades. The problem is that playing outside gets more attention from teachers and parents. One parent told me that they only have two 'free' hours in the day and this was enough for their children to get the recommended 30 minutes a day.Lisa Buelteel says that children from the lower socio-economic groups were deprived of the important time of their lives. She is so impressed with the research she has done that she now writes her own research papers. She said the main benefit is to children who don't have very much time for play.Pam Humphries said children's health has been negatively affected by lack of play and recess. She has come up with studies showing that having a recess and play area in the school is a great way of helping kids concentrate. She has found that children are more likely to focus if they have an active space to play in. This really added to her confidence that children need exercise and it's good for their health too.Play and recess to allow children to learn new skills, for example reading and writing, painting, or drawing. You don't want to take away play but to give children more time to do things that will help them in the future. Children need active and healthy play as part of their education and it is a real key in developing self-esteem.Play and recess help to teach children skills that they can apply to their later life. There is no doubt that playing time is a part of learning. Children learn better when they have good, clean playtime.Parents will have a choice, either to turn down the television and bring in books for children to play with or to make sure they have recess and pla y time. In most areas you will find very few play areas. It would be best to have something on a busy road or in a shopping centre. Once again it depends on how much time parents have available.Look around and think what could you do to make sure your children have good, fun and interesting play time. All families need to know more about how outdoor play benefits children and it doesn't take that much more than a table and a few chairs. Let's not forget that outdoor play is good for physical and mental health.
